Welcome to Burbage Primary School Parent, Teacher, & Friends Association (PTFA)
We are an enthusiastic group of parents who give up a little of our spare time to fundraise and enhance the children’s school experience. We raise up to £10,000 a year through larger occasions such as the Summer and Christmas Fairs and other smaller events throughout the year including sponsored challenges, Mother’s Day Gift Exchange, school discos and ice cream Fridays in the summer.
As a parent or carer of a child at Burbage School you are automatically a member of the PTFA and we would love more people to get involved. We know everyone is busy and appreciate any time you are able to give. There are many ways you can volunteer: helping at events, putting up posters, filling in grant forms or just baking a cake, to name just a few!
Please get in touch if you would like to join us.
The committee currently has the following members and roles:
Sarah Brown – Chair
Nicola Wall – Treasurer
Olivia Johnson – Secretary

We also have a representative for each year in the school:
Reception – Hazel Shirt
Yr 1 – Natalie Robinson

Yr 4 – Jessica O’Dwyer

Bag 2 school (bag2school.com)
This is a textile recycling scheme which raises funds from bag2school who pay 40p per kg, so you can de-clutter and raise money at the same time! We will send home bags in advance of the collection date with details of what bag2school will accept. Please fill your bag with any unwanted clothes, soft toys etc. and bring to school on the morning of the collection before registration. We aim to have a collection every term
This is the new textile recycling scheme we are trialling. The company pay 50p per kg of textiles, so you can de-clutter and raise money at the same time! We will send home bags in advance of the collection date and provisionally we have arranged a collection for 23rd May 2019. The company take most clothing, except for socks, ripped or stained clothes, uniform/workwear, bathrobes, slippers and pyjamas. They do accept belts, ties, hat and gloves, jewellery, bags and paired shoes. Please fill your bag and bring to school on the morning of the collection before registration.
You can raise funds for PTFA when you shop online and it doesn’t cost you a penny and you use exactly the same retailers/websites as normal! Sign up to easyfundraising and when you shop online simply click through their website or app to your usual retailers. If the retailer is signed up, then easyfundraising will automatically collect the donation for Burbage PTFA. You do not pay more anymore or do anything else. The donation is usually calculated as a percentage of your sale but is sometimes it is a fixed amount set by the retailer.
Every penny really does count, as over the years we have raised over £3660 via easyfundraising. Currently there are 89 supporters signed up and we would love more people to join up and boost our funds to support the school. Below is a link for new referrals which will give an extra £5 donation for everyone who signs up and generates £5 in donations so please sign up today.
